In August, of 1989, God put a vision in the Spirit of a man, Alexander Arthur.
Dr. Alexander Arthur had already totally surrendered and committed his life to the Lord. The vision was to impart the Word of Life, the Word of God, to the body of Christ and to a dying world. The simple message from God has (and is) that Christ Jesus has created us
anew to live a victorious and abundant life in Him. His message includes the message of faith and prosperity, both of which increase by the knowledge and acting upon the Word of God.
“The Word of Life” was the title of a Newsletter God had given to Pastor Arthur in March of 1989. As the Word of Life Newsletter was distributed throughout Nashville and requests for it rapidly increased, God spoke to Pastor Arthur at a Monday night bible study in his home. He instructed Pastor Arthur to begin the Word of Life Church. It would be a teaching ministry where the uncompromised Word of God would be imparted to people so that they could bear the fruit of the spirit in their lives.
The ministry began in Pastor Arthur’s home and later moved to a blessed 93-year-old building on Ashland City Highway for seven years when the building was sold. Through the kindness and compassion of a brother in the Lord, services were held in Bellevue Grace Assembly until the Word of Life sanctuary was completed.
Pastor Arthur became a charter member of World Changers Church international (formally International Covenant Ministries) in July of 1998. He is a son in the ministry of Dr. Creflo Dollar, Jr. of World Changers Church, International. Pastor Arthur, like Pastor Dollar, believes that with all of our getting, we should get understanding (Proverbs 4:6). And with the understanding of the Word of God, our lives will be changed, transformed into His image of peace, health, abundance and favor.
On January 1, 2000, God blessed Word of Life Christian Center International to move into the new location on Clarksville Highway, Nashville, Tennessee. This was exactly seven years after the move from his home to the first building. We give God praise, for “He which has begun a good work in you will also perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6)
